Redemption Mode Overview

When customers return to use their rewards, your staff uses Redemption Mode to verify and redeem codes.

Accessing Redemption Mode:

  1. Tap Redeem tab (or ticket icon)

  2. You're now in staff redemption mode

What Staff Sees:

  • Code entry field

  • Scan QR option (if customer has QR code)

  • Recent redemptions list


How to Redeem a Code

Step-by-Step:

  1. Get the code - Customer shows email or reads code aloud

  2. Enter the code - Type in the code field or scan QR

  3. Verify details - Screen shows:

    • Customer name

    • Offer details (e.g., "20% off")

    • Expiration date

    • Location validity

  4. Confirm redemption - Tap Redeem

  5. Apply discount - Use the POS code shown to apply in your system

What a Valid Code Shows:


Invalid Code Errors

Sometimes codes won't work. Here's what each error means:

Already Redeemed

Code was used before

"This code was already used on [date]"

Expired

Past expiration date

"This code expired on [date]. Let me see what I can do."

Wrong Location

Code is for different location

"This code is valid at [location name]"

Inactive

Offer was deactivated

"Let me check with my manager"

Handling Invalid Codes:

  • Be empathetic - customer expected a discount

  • Check if there's a typo

  • Look up customer by email if needed

  • Manager can issue a new code if warranted


Checking Redemption History

View Recent Redemptions:

  1. Go to Redeem tab

  2. Scroll down to see Recent Redemptions

  3. Shows: Code, customer, offer, timestamp, who redeemed

Search Past Redemptions:

  1. Tap Search icon

  2. Enter customer email or code

  3. View full redemption history

Filter by Date:

  1. Tap Filter

  2. Select date range

  3. View redemptions for that period
